A Wintry Blast

A Wintry Blast

With swirling snow piling high,
Heavy, dark clouds line the sky.

A wintry blast on its way,
Making for a snowy day.

Ice and icicles abound,
Paintings by Jack Frost are found.

Soon the world is masked in white
Causing panic or delight.

Howling winds with freezing rain
Nipping noses; stinging pain.

Winter always does its best
Slippery roads; driver's test.

Soon the highway's plugged with snow;
Not a place where one should go.

Higher, deeper, fresh snowbanks;
For one's safety, cause for thanks.

Wonderment, trees buried deep;
Branches laden fall asleep.

Wintry blasts, some seem to love;
Hope for sunshine from above.

Storms all destined soon to end;
Old man winter too, will bend.
