About W. Diane Van Zwol

This photograph was taken at the time when W. Diane Van Zwol made the decision to begin writing. Freelance writing had not even been considered at that time, but it soon became evident that writing would prove to be challenging to her. 

Creating love poetry appeared to be even more exciting and thus W. Diane Van Zwol began to write on inspiration and follow her muse. 

 

The New Year Dawns

The New Year Dawns

The new year dawns in time and space;

The world should be a happy place.

Around the globe, we celebrate.

But where is love? Is it too late?

As fireworks mark the midnight hour,

In ev'ry country, love is power.

But pain, the misery, the strife;

How blessed would be a better life!

The hope of love is always there,

If humankind can learn to care.

Each one could build a better world,

With 'peace on earth', the flag unfurled.

Disaster man cannot prevent,

But love in fullness must be sent.

A world-wide cry for war to cease

Would help to bring the world to peace.

While outer space still filled with fears

And earth is flooding in its tears,

A cry for love must e'er resound,

With joyful echoes, the one sound.

Happy New Year!

Love is the greatest gift of all. 

Love that is true love, is not a commodity that can be bought or sold; it can only be expressed. Love poetry is only one mode of expression, but one that has the power to touch and awaken the heart and mind.  

Without love, humankind could not survive. 

It is within this context that "Love Poetry 2013" is compiled and published by W. Diane Van Zwol.

The passion of love poetry 

in the depths of one's soul, 

awakens a life line 

that makes poets whole. 

It's the muse of the love poet,

One that never does rest

While showing to others

How truly they're blessed.

Purity of love poetry

Manifest by true words,

Soon touches the spirit

Like fluttering birds.
